Clean Energy Alternatives
Carbon Reduction Strategies
Florida Wildlife Federation (FWF) maintains a close working relationship with Environmental Defense (ED) and our National Wildlife Federation partners. ED and FWF have been working together on climate change policy at the state and federal level over the past year. This partnership has been productive and is widely credited with moving policy on global warming and energy in Florida in a positive direction.
We believe there is consensus among our respective organizations that Florida is a pivotal state in the national debate over means to combat global warming. Florida is arguably the state that will be most effected by climate change as manifested in sea level rise, frequent and severe storms and loss of wildlife and habitat. Additionally, Florida’s population and our electoral-college votes make this a critical battleground state for climate change legislation.
