Dear Friends – All of you who put on a Benefit Concert for the Florida Wildlife Federation!
We are truly grateful to you for the generous donation of $3,000.00 received by the Florida Wildlife Federation today! We were honored to be the recipient of the monies raised at your benefit show on June 30th at Propaganda in Lake Worth, Florida. We thank all of the people who attended the benefit and donated to the Federation’s Oil Spill Response Efforts!
FWF is providing timely and accurate information to our members and the public via our website, www.fwfonline.org, and other media outlets including television and newspapers. Already the oil spill disaster has covered several thousand square miles and is bringing with it tar balls, undersea oil plumes, and vast oily sheens that threaten the entire web of life in the Gulf of Mexico from tiny plankton to whales.
We believe that a Florida Constitutional Amendment is necessary to prohibit drilling in Florida’s marine waters, which extend three miles into the Atlantic Ocean and 10 miles into the Gulf of Mexico. It is our desire to see that such an amendment is added to the November 2010 ballot by the Florida Legislature during a special session.
